Knitting From Stash...

Well mostly from other peoples stash really lol.

I was given some lovely pink snuggly 4ply from Debs aka melody yarns. I quipped that has she had heard of 'Rhapsody in blue' I was naming this little cardy 'Melody in Pink' lol

Then, I was also sent a selection of skeins from Colinette by Aknita.
I promised I would try and do the yarn justice and these evolved...

I crocheted a 'pinwheel' from the banyan yarn.

A chunky neckwarmer from the 'stuff I have no idea what it's called' skein lol

And my favourite is this...

I used up one skein of Giotto and one of mohair and made a fabbo scarf.

So there you have it...loads of stash knitting and none of it was from mine lol

Mystery Yarn Tank Top....bought for 50p. Bargain!

I really do have no idea what the yarn is, it's cotton and that's about it. I have a bit left over too. I may be sporting a matching hat or something soon ;)

FO's + WIP's = HAPPY!

Mam very happily modelled her new cardigan on Saturday...and I don't think there's a single person on her street who hasn't seen it! Yay, I was proud and very pleased she liked it. Not to mention that it fit (always a worry)

I also finished the Blue socks. These will be Augusts' entry for the Sock-A-Month challenge over on the Crafty Threads Forum.

I also started a Star Afghan. This was thanks to Nevisknitter and also Chrissy who's finished hers too.

And last but by no means least, there's another project on the go...

...well, there will be soon lol
This gorgeous lace weight yarn was hand dyed by the very talented CJ and she sent it to me as a suprise!
The photo doesn't do the yarn any justice at all but hopefully there will be a work in progress shot soon...I just need to find a pattern and i'm away.
Thankyou very much CJ.

Mams Cardy Is Finished!

And you lovely people get to see it first ;)
Image Hosted by

I'm sure Mam won't mind (she probably won't even know lol)

I would also like to say Thankyou to all of you who have commented on the progress. It has been a great help in keeping me going and to be honest, I AM going to be sad now it's done :(

( and the "what the hell do I blog about now" syndrome has kicked in).

There will be a special modelled pic when I give it to her on Saturday though. :D

And The Nominees Are...

Well OK i'll get to that bit in a mo ;) (adds to the suspense)

Firstly i'd like to thank Noo for nominating me for the 'Rocking Girl Blogger' award.
This is my first award from anyone and i'm reletively new to all this, it was very unexpected and just so....well fab really :D

Now I wish to pass on the award to others who I feel deserve it too.

So I would like to nominate Aknita
I love reading Aknita's blog, it's amusing, witty and just like a breath of fresh air!

And also Nevisknitter because she's new to blogging too and I adore the star afghan :D

Now for what I hope to be the last progess pic of Mams cardy!
(Doing the 'progress of' pics has really helped me along with this and I think I will miss it when it's finished :( )

There are the main bits, all blocked and looking pretty.

Here's a close up too :D

I have started the sleeves (which shouldn't take too long) and all I have to do is crochet around the edges and it's all done.
My aim is to have it completed for Friday, ready to give it to her on Saturday.
I WILL get her to model it aswell! :D

Mams Cardigan Progress So far.

Image Hosted by

Well it's starting to look like cardy now and therefore I can see an end in sight lol. I'm not too sure I would ever attempt a fronts and back together combo again but on the other hand ask me again when it comes to the sewing up ;)

I have made other things this week though...A Goldfish (I kid you not see HERE) and a fluffy scarf for DD1...which was finished on the only day we had sun lol

I'm still scared by the fact I knit anymore fluffy stuff (nevermind whilst it was sunny) but I may post a pic, if can manage to look at it again lol.
